Redfern Lineage Designs takes its name from Isabella Redfern Culley (1819–1896), an Englishwoman whose descendants spread across Canada, the United States, and Australia. She was the great-great-great-grandmother of founder Ryan Légère and a woman ahead of her time. The fact that so many descendants carry her surname as a given name — and that multiple businesses have been named in her honour — speaks to the deep respect her children and grandchildren held for their family matriarch. Her enduring legacy, carried proudly through generations, inspires the mission of our work today: preserving family histories with the same care and devotion she gave to her own family.

About us

Founded by Ryan Légère in 2023, Redfern Lineage Genealogy preserves your family’s legacy through expert genealogy research and custom family tree designs.

Based in Montreal and originally from New Brunswick, Ryan has helped clients across Canada and the United States uncover their family histories and create heirloom-quality, personalized projects that celebrate their heritage.

Ryan has spent years navigating archival records across North America and Europe, driven by a passion for uncovering the lives hidden within old documents. His love of languages has enabled him to research families from countries including Germany, France, Poland, Italy, the Netherlands, Mexico, and Australia. He is also trained in DNA analysis, helping reconnect families and identify previously unknown relatives. He has successfully discovered biological parents and grandparents for multiple clients — work he is particularly passionate about, knowing the profound difference it can make in a client’s understanding of their own background and identity. Every custom chart genealogy report he creates is approached with the same care: transforming research into family history reports and custom-designed trees that are not only accurate, but beautiful and visually-striking keepsakes meant to be passed down for generations.
